RC ROVER® REV9-16
Unmanned Ground Vehicle
Introduced in 2002, the REV9-16 Unmanned Ground Vehicle is the
shorter, lighter, more compact 16" chassis in the REV9 series
of unmanned vehicles, offering maximum ground clearance
because of its 10" tires, capable of operating even when
flipped upside down. REV9-16 unmanned vehicles continue to
evolve with the advent of technology, maintaining a clear
advantage when it comes to man portable form, function, and
value. As a proven platform deployed world-wide for over a
decade now, the REV9 series of unmanned vehicles have been
delivering unmatched performance and value to professionals
around the world.
REV9 is modular, customizable from the ground up, and
easily expandable, available as Almost Ready To
Run (ARTR), Ready To Run (RTR) , Ready For
Operation (RFO) with additional options and upgrades sold
separately.
- ARTR kit includes complete chassis
- RTR Kit includes ARTR plus operator radio ideal for full
remote navigation upon arrival.
- RFO kit includes RTR plus ground station and transportation
case, ready for turn-key operation.
Each REV9 chassis is made of laser cut, pressed, deep welded,
and painted (or optionally, anodized) aerospace grade
material, with a footprint small and light enough to make it
an ideal man-portable UGV, while large enough to allow for
optimum stability, terrain traction, and payload
capacity. REV9-16 comes with top surface access panels
which maybe sealed optionally for water resistance and
temporary submergence in shallow pools of water. Payload
may be installed on top of the chassis (this placement however
prevents the UGV to operate upside down/flipped) or
internally.
RC Rover® REV9 Unmanned Systems are Proudly Designed, Made,
and Assembled in U.S.A.
Selecting which model to chose depends on intended use, type
of environment, end-user requirements, and project
limitations.
• The REV9-18 has a longer 18" chassis, rendering more
surface-mount space for payload. It handles steep inclinations
on slick surfaces very well, and climbs shorter stairs but
more smoothly with outstanding traction and accuracy.
• The REV9-16 has a shorter 16" chassis and higher ground and
payload clearance (about 4" depending on orientation)
therefore allowing it to operate upside down / down side up
(subject to proper payload placement).
• Both vehicles come with top surface access panels which
maybe permanently sealed as an option to allow drive-through
water (Note: External payload also needs customization to
allow submergence). REV9 payload may be installed on top or
side panels or internally.

Durability
Resists momentary shocks, impacts, snow and rain, external
voltage spikes, solvents, fire, hazmat, and harsh environments
Intelligence!
All REV9 RFO Systems ship with switchable RC / PC controllers.
This feature accommodates native system expansion and
integration for controlled RC or PC use as well as full
autonomous or semi-autonomous waypoint based navigation.
Precision and Speed
REV9 can "turn on a dime" while moving at speeds of few inches
per minute or up to 7 miles per hour. Speeds fo 30+MPH maybe
achieved by utilizing upgrade component and optional equipment
sold separately.
Footprint
At only 18" x 12" x 4" (REV9-18) and 16" x 12" x 4" (REV9-16).
Strength & Durability
REV9 unmanned vehicles are built to resist momentary shocks,
impacts, snow / rain, external voltage spikes, solvents, fire,
hazmat, and harsh environments, with enough traction to
momentarily pull a rolling chassis ten times its weight.
Payload capacity
Lab tested at peak 200 LBS of payload.
Suggested payload capacity not to exceed 30 LBS.
Two Step Maintenance
Step 1: Clean machine after each use.
Step 2: Keep batteries charged at all time. That's it!
For REV9 systems with marine-sealed chassis, , simply hose
down the UGV after each use and wipe dry. For non-sealed REV9
cleaning, use a damp towel to clean, and a dry towel to dry
the chassis and payload.
Repair and Replacement
All REV9 Parts are replaceable. Repairs requiring simple
component swap may be filed-performed by operator. Wheels,
tires, and adapter hubs may be repaired/replaced by operator
or by the local lawn and garden shop. Electronics and drive
system components must be repaired or replaced by an
authorized REV9 technician/facility.
